Final setup for SOHO’s nine‑episode podcast series, filmed in 4K with three Sony FX6 Cinema Line cameras.
Case Study - SOHO Podcast Series
The Society of Hematologic Oncology (SOHO) partnered with us to produce a nine‑episode podcast series during their annual conference in Orlando. With limited time and a non‑traditional filming location, we transformed a nearby restaurant into a temporary production studio and captured all nine episodes in a single day.
Project Overview
The producer preferred filming off‑site from the Orange County Convention Center, so we converted a private dining area inside Mia’s Italian Kitchen on International Drive into a controlled production environment. Our team handled all lighting, audio, camera, and on‑site logistics to ensure each episode was captured cleanly and consistently.

Mia’s Italian Kitchen served as our location for the podcast filming.
Client Goal
SOHO needed a professional, efficient way to record a series of conversations with leadership and invited guests, then turn those recordings into a cohesive nine‑episode podcast series. Their goals included:
-
A polished, multi‑camera production setup
-
Clean, consistent audio in a live restaurant environment
-
Fast turnaround
-
Organized footage for easy episode assembly
Setup Challenges & On‑Site Realities
Producing a nine‑episode podcast series inside a busy restaurant during serving hours required careful coordination and a flexible workflow. The venue remained fully operational, so our team worked quietly, moved gear strategically, and adapted to foot traffic and ambient noise.
We built a three‑camera setup using Sony FX6 Cinema Line cameras, providing clean skin tones, strong low‑light performance, and 4K resolution video throughout the shoot.
To control acoustics, we placed sound‑dampening cloths (floppies) around the perimeter of the set. With only five hours to set up, record all nine episodes, and strike the location, we worked quickly and diligently to keep production moving efficiently.

Our client kept their guests - and the crew - well fed during our time at the restaurant.
Production Approach
We designed the set around a consistent three‑camera layout:
-
A wide master shot
-
A dedicated host camera
-
A tight guest camera that shifted focus depending on who was speaking
Lighting was built around a large overhead lantern softbox as the key source, with traditional softboxes added for fill. This ensured soft, flattering illumination and consistent exposure as ambient light changed throughout the lunch service.
To manage acoustics in the active restaurant environment, we placed sound‑dampening floppies around the set. Each participant wore a wireless microphone feeding clean audio directly to the cameras, with a dedicated backup recorder for redundancy.

Results & Deliverables
After recording, we provided SOHO with the draft footage for review. They selected the segments for each episode, and our team handled all editing, color matching, audio cleanup, and branded title creation.
Final deliverables included:
-
Nine edited podcast episodes
-
Multi‑camera cuts from the Sony FX6 system
-
Clean, consistent audio
-
Branded opening titles
-
Web‑optimized MP4 files
